Artiqa Fat Freeze is suited to individuals who are close to their ideal body weight but have specific, localised fat deposits that do not respond to diet and exercise. It is not a weight loss treatment and is not appropriate for patients with obesity. Ideal areas include the abdomen, love handles, inner thighs, upper arms, chin, and bra fat. Patients with certain medical conditions including cryoglobulinaemia, cold agglutinin disease, or paroxysmal cold haemoglobinuria are not suitable candidates. A full assessment is conducted at consultation to determine treatment suitability and the appropriate applicator for each area.

Artiqa Fat Freeze permanently destroys fat cells in the treated area — once eliminated, these cells do not regenerate. The treatment requires no needles, no anaesthesia, and no recovery time, allowing patients to return to normal activities immediately. Each session produces a measurable reduction in fat layer thickness. Multiple sessions and areas can be treated for a more comprehensive body contouring result. The gradual, natural-looking reduction in fat over six to twelve weeks post-treatment ensures changes appear subtle and natural.

Stay well-hydrated in the days before treatment. Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing to your appointment. Avoid anti-inflammatory medications for a week before treatment if possible. Inform your clinician of any relevant medical conditions, previous surgeries in the treatment area, or nerve sensitivities. Do not undergo fat freeze treatment over areas with skin conditions, active infections, or recent scarring.

The Artiqa applicator is placed on the target area, creating a firm suction that draws the tissue into the cooling chamber. An intense cold sensation is felt in the first few minutes, which quickly gives way to numbness as the area cools. Most patients read, work, or rest comfortably during the session. After the applicator is removed, the treated area is massaged to break up the crystallised fat cells and enhance results. Each area takes approximately 45–60 minutes.

There is no downtime after Artiqa Fat Freeze. Temporary redness, firmness, swelling, bruising, and mild tenderness or tingling in the treated area are normal and resolve within days to weeks. A rare side effect called paradoxical adipose hyperplasia — in which the fat tissue grows rather than shrinks — is extremely uncommon but can occur.
